Youth Mobility between the UK and the EU
The European Parliament Liaison Office in the UK, New Europeans UK and the British Youth Council request the pleasure of your presence at the debate on 'Youth Mobility between the UK and the EU'.
As UK and EU leaders hold their first summit to reset relations since Brexit, a public debate on youth mobility will be held at Europe House. The event is organised jointly by the European Parliament Liaison Office in the United Kingdom, the citizens' rights charity New Europeans UK and the British Youth Council. The discussion will come a day after the leaders' summit in London at which youth mobility is expected to be on the agenda.
The event will start promptly at 17.45 until 19.15, after which there will be a networking reception until 20.00, opening with a musical piece by Madeleina Kay.

Manuela Perteghella
Manuela Perteghella is the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Stratford-on-Avon, elected on 4 July 2024. Her victory was a landmark moment in the constituency’s history, as she became the first ever female MP for the area. She serves on the Education Select Committee and is chair of the APPG on Citizens Rights,and fittingly is also chair for the APPG for Shakespeare.
Before entering Parliament, Manuela built a distinguished career in higher education, where she worked as a university lecturer and researcher. Her expertise lay in literary translation and creative practice, fields that allowed her to explore theintersections between language, culture, and storytelling.

Maurizio Cuttin
Maurizio is the British Youth Council's chief international spokesperson. Since his election in 2021, he has passionately advocated for Britain to rejoin intercultural exchange and learning programmes like Erasmus+ and Creative Europe.
As the youngest-ever advisor appointed to co-author a European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) report on EU-UK Youth Engagement, Maurizio played a pivotal role in shaping the European Commission's stance on youth mobility and cross-channel youth sector relations. As a result, he now serves on the UK Domestic Advisory Group, which oversees the Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
In December 2024, he was honoured with the prestigious Princess Diana Award for his dedication to empowering young people in the UK and Europe.

Arttu Rajantie
Arttu Rajantie is a member of the Action Coordination Board of CONNECTS-UK, which he is representing as a speaker. He is also Chair of the Finnish Science Society in the UK and Professor of Theoretical Physics at Imperial College London.
Originally from Finland, he moved to the UK in 1998 after completing his PhD at the University of Helsinki. Before joining Imperial, he worked at the Universities of Sussex and Cambridge, where he was a Fellow of Churchill College. His research focuses on theoretical particle physics and cosmology.

Jake Richings
Jake Richings advises organisations like The Co-operative, European Economic and Social Committee, and Career Thought Leaders how to engage young people. As a speaker he delivers sessions across Europe demonstrating the importance of buy-in when delivering skills agendas. Now, with Gloucestershire Careers Hub, he is coordinating education and industry to enable 10,000 young people into new Cyber and Digital careers.

Kate Willoughby
Kate Willoughby is an actor, writer and part-time suffragette with a passion for democracy: creating and sharing stories from the heart.
In 2014, Kate took her suffragette play 'To Freedom's Cause' to the House of Commons.
She has since worked with grassroots and community partners to develop and facilitate impactful #Emilymatters and #LoveYourVote outreach events. Partners to date include New Europeans UK, Girlguiding and the WEA.
